Here at LUCOBIT AG, the responsible and sustainable handling of our natural resources is an integral part of our daily business. This is why we embrace the new European Chemicals Regulation REACH, which became effective on June 1, 2007.
WHAT IS REACH?
REACH is the regulation concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, Registration and Restriction of Chemicals. Within the scope of REACH come Phase-in substances and Non-phase-in substances.
On December 13, 2006 the European Parliament has passed the draft of the new chemicals regulation REACH, with a vast majority. The Council of Ministers has passed the law on December 18, which means that REACH became effective in June 2007.
REACH is strengthening the chemical industry’s will to act responsibly. The new regulation stipulates that it is no longer the national authorities that are in charge of the secure distribution of chemicals but rather the industry itself. REACH is to secure a high level of safety for human health and the environment and build up the consumer’s confidence in the chemical industry. At the same time, the regulation is supposed to strengthen the competitive position and innovative ability of the chemical industry on the global market.
With regards to implementing the new European Chemicals Regulation it is our goal here at LUCOBIT to achieve a cooperative and target-oriented relationship with our customers.
